About this metric

fossil fuels

Fossil fuels are organic fuels derived from geologically transformed organic materials, especially plants and phytoplankton. Fossil fuels held in tanks refers to the stored fossil fuels within the vision extent. For example, at gas stations, in oil boilers, and natural gas tanks. It is estimated from fuel consumtion by multiplying by the proportion of days of fuel storage to the number of days in a year.

Fossil fuel carbon = fuel consumption * days of fuel storage / days per year

Depends upon:

—Parameters: days of fuel storage and days per year

—Other metrics: fossil fuels consumed
