About this metric

plant growth

Plant growth is estimated as net primary productivity. Net primary production represents carbon taken from the atmosphere and fixed into biomass over the course of the year by photosynthesis, minus the carbon released to the atmosphere from plant respiration.

Net primary productivity = average net primary productivity * area of vision extent

Used to calculate: photosynthesis and respiration

Depends upon:

—Parameters: net primary productivity

—Other metrics: ecosystem area
